arbour lake calgaryArbour Lake is a picturesque community surrounded by rolling hills, magnificent mountain views and is northwest Calgary’s only lake community. It is bounded by Nose Hill Drive to the east, Country Hills Blvd. to the north, Crowchild Trail to the south and Stoney Trail to the west.  Arbour Lake is built around a 20 foot deep, 10 acre trout- stocked lake fed by the city’s water supply. It is a well- established community built in the early 1990’s and offers affordable housing and amenities popular with young, active families. Average home prices are in the $530,000 range, and condominiums are priced around $300,000. Arbour Lake has state of the art YMCA, a myriad of pathways and parks, plus a brand new library! It is no surprise with so many features and conveniences it was voted one of the top 10 Calgary communities in 2012 by Avenue Magazine.

With the major transportation routes of Country Hills Blvd, Crowchild Trail and the Stoney Trail ring road, Arbour Lake has excellent access to virtually every part of the city. Downtown is generally a 20 minute drive and transit commuters are close to the new LRT station at the nearby Crowfoot Crossing shopping centre.

One of Arbour Lake’s drawing cards is its location – offering  residents so many options for shopping and recreation close to home. The Crowfoot Crossing shopping centre is one of the largest outdoor malls in Calgary featuring over 240 shops and services and is minutes away at the junction of Crowchild Trail and Nose Hill Drive  – everything a family needs from groceries to entertainment in one location! Nose Hill Park, just west of Arbour Lake, provides miles of walking and nature trails and some of the best views of the Rocky Mountains anywhere in Calgary.

The Arbour Lake Community Association coordinates a variety of sports programs for residents of all ages, activities for seniors, youth and child care programs and social functions. The community association arranges rentals and maintains the Arbour Lake Community Centre as well as producing a community newsletter.

The Arbour Lake Residents Association is responsible for maintaining the lake and surrounding recreational facilities with includes the 4,000 square foot lakeside pavilion. The Association  employs a full time manager and activities coordinator to organize sports programs, parties, BBQ’s fishing derbies and other events held at the lake. These activities are funded by annual assessments paid by all residents. Fees range from $372 for lake front homes, $260 for lots with lake access, and $150 for all other homes. The lake, its walkways, parklands, and facilities are for the exclusive use of Arbour Lake residents and their guests.

There are three golf courses in the northwest for the golf enthusiast; Bearspaw Country Club and the Country Club of the Hamptons are both private 18 hole golf courses and Lynx Ridge Golf Club is a public course in the nearby community of Tuscany.
