Dover

Surrounded by the CNR Mainline to its’ easy and by Calgary’s irrigation canal lies the neighbourhood of Dover in Calgary’s southeast. Originally established as a community in 1971, Dover benefits from a wide range of amenities including the Deerfoot Trail being to its’ immediate west, the Bow River Valley set in close proximity with the Inglewood golf course located here, and with amazing views of the Rocky Mountains and downtown Calgary.  Dover maintains a population of 10,500 residents with a little over 30% of the properties here being rented. Close to major transport routes and offering recreational opportunities from the Bow River valley, Dover is a centre amongst many amenities. The neighbourhood has its’ own parks and tot lots found throughout its’ area. The whole family is welcome here in Dover. The nearby industrial park employs many of the residents in the community, and makes for a popular spot among employees and job hunters alike.

The Dover Community Association has been hard at work since its’ inception at providing residents of all ages with more opportunities to get out and meet their neighbors. There are regular after school programs facilitated at the community centre, several sports fields established in park space through Dover, and the community association hosts several annual holiday events including an Easter party, Halloween party, Breakfast with Santa, and self-proclaimed “Dover Days” at the beginning of June.

Calgary Transit has over a dozen steps located throughout the Dover area to afford residents the chance to visit other parts of Calgary at an affordable price.
