Sundance Community Information
Sundance is a neighborhood firmly established in Calgary’s southeast quadrant between Fish Creek Provincial Park to the northeast and Stoney Trail to the south. Sundance is the home of the 33-acre man-made lake known as Sundance Lake which is set in the community’s centre and residents not only have access to Sundance Lake but also to the public beach of Sikome Lake. Originally established in 1982, the Sundance neighborhood now boasts a population of 11,000 residents living across nearly 3,500 dwellings. The area is known for its rich properties, vast array of amenities, and for the access to public schools that Sundance residents have.
The neighborhood’s public school students attend either Fisk Creek Elementary School or Sundance Elementary School before moving on to MidSun Junior High and then Centennial Senior High School – all of which are located within the borders of Sundance. Meanwhile Catholic school students attend Sundance’s won Father James Whelihan Elementary and Junior High before finishing up at Bishop O’Byrne Senior High School.
This active, vibrant community has attracted many residents looking for easy access to shopping and restaurants while maintaining access to amenities that grant a level of privacy other communities can’t come close to. This neighborhood is built with green space in mind – Fish Creek Provincial Park is within walking distance, the lake at its heart, and the numerous recreational opportunities offered via the neighborhood’s communities association.
Calgary Transit has numerous bus stops set up throughout Sundance in order to assist residents who wish to voyage to other areas of the city at an affordable cost.
Sundance has been developed in the past four decades as a community set on attaining perfect for itself. Whether it’s the protected spaces that populate the region, the high level of properties available, or access amenities, a journey through Sundance speaks for itself. When you get here, it becomes clear that Sundance is a neighborhood well worth a considerate look as to where you would like to invest into your next property.
